Press Release: Meet our new manager!

Mike Randall, centre manager

New Manager for Dublin City Volunteer Centre

Press Release

12 February 2024

New Centre Manager Mike Randall aims to build community connections in Dublin City through volunteering.

“Recent events have shown us that people in Ireland feel disconnected from each other, and this lack of understanding has led to mistrust, especially towards immigrants and people new to Ireland.

As a Volunteer Centre, we know that volunteering is a great way for people to build connections that lead to stronger communities while combating loneliness and increasing a sense of well-being – all while doing something good!” said Mike.

Dublin City Volunteer Centre helps people find meaningful volunteering opportunities and supports non-profit organisations to harness the power of volunteers to provide essential services in local communities.

Mike comes to his new role with extensive experience in the charity sector, both in Ireland and across Europe. He worked as Operations Manager at South Dublin Volunteer Centre immediately before his new role. He also has a strong background in charity governance and spent three years as a board member for the National Youth Council of Ireland.

Geraldine Comerford, Dublin City Volunteer Centre’s chairperson, said “We’re really excited to have Mike on board for this new chapter in the work of the centre. Mike will be instrumental in leading our work to bring volunteers and non-profit organisations together, and his experience will be a great benefit to us and all those we work with.”
