Finding volunteering that suits you is easy with I-VOL, the national volunteering database. Here’s how it works.
1. Register on I-VOL
Create a free account on I-VOL. It takes a few minutes. You’ll need an email address, your address and a phone number.
2. Search for roles
Go to the I-VOL search page and open Advanced Search. You can search by:
- Day and time: the mornings, afternoons or evenings you’re free
- Activities: up to five things you’d like to do, such as catering, conservation and gardening, or events and stewarding
- Categories: for example “Suitable for Basic English”, “No Garda Vetting”, “Quick Start” or “From Home”
Read each role carefully. Check you can get to the location easily, that the times suit you, and what commitment and screening the role needs.
3. Register your interest
When you find a role that suits you, click the pink Register Interest button. Please apply for no more than five roles at a time.
4. Watch your email
We’ll email you about next steps, so check your spam folder too. In most cases we pass your details to the organisation, and they take the recruitment from there. Many organisations are small or run by volunteers, so it can take a little while to hear back.
