National Volunteering Week 2023- May 15 to 22
Celebrate volunteering with us!
#NVWIreland #ConnectingCommunities
Volunteers have continued to amaze us this year by stepping up and helping out whenever and wherever they are needed. Over the past year, we’ve seen volunteers assist with new programmes helping people new to ireland including international protection applicants and refugees from the Ukraine war.
What’s more, many people who came to Ireland to seek refuge have now become volunteers themselves and are becoming part of local communities and learning Irish culture by volunteering alongside locals through programmes like our own Together for Better Project. Which is why this years’ theme of #connectingcommunities has a very special meaning to us here at Dublin City Volunteer Centre.
Volunteers have also been key in donating their skills as befrienders, gardeners, charity shop assistants, office volunteers and much more- in fact volunteers in Dublin City alone gave over 35,000 hours of their time and skills to local organisations in Dublin City.
This National Volunteering Week, help us celebrate the volunteers and organisations contributing to communities in Dublin City by sharing stories of volunteering on social media or thanking a volunteer!
Don’t forget, volunteering is for everyone, so if you would like to get involved, register with us and search for volunteering that suits your skills and interests.
If you are an organisation that involves volunteers, find info on how you can make the most of National Volunteering Week 2023!
