On the 9th of November Dublin City Volunteer Centre was proud to unveil the new Dublin City Ukraine Response Community Noticeboard at a launch event in Dublin Castle with the Lord Mayor, Caroline Conroy and Dr Dáithí Downey, Chief Officer, Dublin City Council’s Local Community Development Committee.
Dublin City Volunteer Centre Manager Franzi O’Donnell explains more about the purpose of the website: “We are hoping to have created an entry point for displaced persons from Ukraine in Dublin City, to stay updated and connected to their local community by providing access to information about services, activities and events happening locally. The website signposts people to services and activities in range of areas such as family, education, health and volunteering. It is available in a couple of different languages to allow easy access to the information.”
Dublin City Ukraine Response Community Noticeboard is managed by Dublin City Volunteer Centre with the support of Dublin City Council Housing and Community Services and Dublin City Local Community Development Committee (LCDC).
The website initiative was originally conceived by Ukrainian Community Response Forum, who sought to provide a platform for Ukrainian Community Response Forum members, as well as other statutory and non-statutory organisations and community and voluntary groups in Dublin, to offer their services and information that could be useful to people arriving from Ukraine.
Organisations are invited to list relevant services, news and events on the Ukraine Response Community Noticeboard by posting directly on the website or by contacting Ukraineresponse@volunteerdublincity.ie
